Birdwatching: June 10: Pick-up at Keflavik airport. Flight to Keflavik, pick-up at airport. Drive over to the Blue Lagoon for breakfast and relax in the Blue Lagoon. At 10 o’clock drive to Reykjavik, book into hotel. Stroll to the city centre to the Pond with your guide. On the Pond a variety of ducks can be seen as well as a number of other species. Free time in the city till afternoon when the bus and your guide will pick you up for an afternoon drive to some interesting bird-sites near the city. Suggestions of daytours: An hour or two of walking between the various galleries in Reykjavik. After a nice walk, a rest in one of many cafés. Dog-sledding/snowmobiling! Once in a lifetime experience upon one of the glaciers. We suggest a 5 day tour around the Westfjords. The Westfjords are the best kept secret of Iceland. Have you ever been by the sea and up in the mountains at the very same time? This is what you can experience in a visit to the Westfjords. Rugged landscape and yet welcoming. You can take a close look wild birds. Tour starting on July 25, 2009. Included in the tour is accommodation and breakfast, admission to the Blue Lagoon and the shark museum. We will do some walking (trekking) every day, snowmobiling or dogsledding during the tour is optional, tours that need to be booked separately. Whalewatching from either Husavik or Reykjavik is an option. |
